Denver International Airport (DEN) is the largest airport in the US by land size. It also has the longest public runway in the nation. And although the terrain around the airport is flat, Denver itself backs up to the Rocky Mountains and sudden gusts of crosswind from the mountain range can sometimes affect this Mile-High airport.

In 1993, DEN was scheduled to complete major renovations.
